(Private Watson is identified on his family's gravestone as a soldier of the 11th Canadian Infantry Battalion, which is also the unit shown in the Canadian Virtual War Memorial. He is, however, identified in the Books of Remembrance and in the regimental history of The Royal Canadian Regiment as a soldier of The RCR. A request for confirmation was sent to the CVWM staff in July 2009.)
