APPENDIX 5
12th October 1917
1. The Regiment will probably entrain at TINQUES early on the 14th inst.
2. Working Party.
"A" Company complete will report to R.T.O. SACY at 1.30 p.m. on the 14th inst. with Field Kitchen and Transport. Company will remain until last train.
3. Picquet.
Lieut. Linton and 20 Other Ranks, "B" Co., are detailed to act as picquet. Picquet will report to the entraining Staff Officer at the Station immediately on the arrival of the Regiment. The picquet will be on duty during the journey and until the detraining is complete. The picquet will be posted under instructions of the Entraining Staff Officer to prevent en wandering away or leaving the Train after entrainment. At intermediate Stations where the train stops the Picquet will prevent men leaving the train, except to ease themselves.
4. Hour of Departure.
To be notified later. The whole of the Transport will arrive at the Entraining Station three (3) hours before the train is due to leave. The Regiment will be at the entraining station 1 1 / 2 hours prior to the departure of the train.
Lieut. MILLS C.A. will be in charge of all rear parties from Companies and Detachments. Rear party will leave ten (10) minutes after the departure of the Regiment. Every man must be clear of BAILLEUL AUX-CORNEILLES with the departure of the Rear Party. Stragglers will be severely dealt with.
The Entrainment will be complete 1 / 2 hour before the train is due to start.
5. Capacity of Trains.
There is only accommodation on the train for Vehicles and Animals up to the establishment laid down. There will, therefore, be no room for surplus Vehicles, etc.
6. Ammunition.
The ammunition carried on the men as well as that carried in the Transport will be taken, also the Grenades, tools, etc., as laid down.
7. Breast Ropes.
Breast Ropes for Horse Trucks are to be provided by Units.
Ropes for lashing vehicles on flat truck are provided by the Railway.
Heel Ropes will serve as Breast Ropes.
8. Brake Van.
No personnel or stores will be allowed in the BRAKE VAN at the end of each train.
9. Authority of R.T.O.
Any instructions given by the R.T.O. With regard to entraining or de-training must be obeyed by all ranks.
10. Further particulars will be issued on receipt of same.
