SYLLABUS OF TRAINING
THE ROYAL CANADIAN REGIMENT
3RD WEEK ENDING AUGUST 18TH, 1917.

Date. Regiment. Description of Training. Remarks.
1917. Aug. 12th. R.C.R. Church Parade. (1) Companies will do at least one half an hour per day with gas helmets on.

(2) Two Companies will have 45 minutes a day Close Order drill, under the R.S.M., in the following order, commencing Thursday the 15th Aug.- "C". "D", "A" and "B" Co. at the same hours as heretofore.

(3) Company route march daily, i.e., one Company per day.

(4) Live grenade throwing and Rifle Grenade work daily.
Written examination of Young Officers, one day during the week.

Paras 1, 3 and 4 apply to August 16th, 17th and 18th only.
Aug. 13th. R.C.R. Divisional Manoeuvres.
Aug. 14th. R.C.R. Divisional Manoeuvres.
Aug. 15th. R.C.R. Divisional Manoeuvres.
Aug. 16th. R.C.R. "A" Co. Co. in Trench to Trench attack; demonstrating action of all Infantry Arms, on principles laid down in S.S. 143 for Platoons. Special attention being given to Snipers and Moppers Up.
"B" Co. do. do.
"C" Co. do. do.
"D" Co. do. do.
Aug. 17th. R.C.R. "A" Co. 1. Questions on Cdn. Corps Standing Orders.
2. Co. in Attack, while remainder look on and criticize.
3. Fire direction and Fire Control.
"B" Co. do. do.
"C" Co. do. do.
"D" Co. do. do.
Aug. 18th. R.C.R. "A" Co. 1. Assault of Strong Point.
2. Co. in Trench to Trench attack, illustrating covering parties, Battle Patrols and Consolidation.
3. Writing Messages.

"D" Co. do. do.
