THE ROYAL CANADIAN REGIMENT.
R.C.R.
Enclosed please find Syllabus of Training of this Battalion for the ensuing week.
There will be two tactical exercises per week, in addition, at dates to be notified later.
Companies will submit to the Orderly Room by 2.00 p.m. the 30th inst., schedule of hours of training, in accordance with attached Syllabus.
On completion of the days training Company Commanders will call a conference of Officers and N.C.O's of their Company to discuss work done, with a view of pointing out mistakes and rectifying same, and to arrange work for the next day.
The Regimental Sergt. Major will take two Companies per day for drill etc., etc.
In this connection the following point will be observed:-
1st Company under R.S.M. will have 45 minutes at 11.00 a.m.
2nd Company under R.S.M. will have 45 minutes at 2.00 p.m.
All Officers, with the exception of the Company Commanders, will parade with the Companies.
Company Commanders will superintend.
Sergeant WISE, Regimental Musketry Instructor, will report to Companies to advise in Musketry Instruction, he will always be in charge of Ranges and practices.
The Drill Instructors attached to Companies will report to Companies to assist in instructing DRILL only.
As they are expert in carrying out of Drill, in accordance with Regimental practices, they should be given as free hand as possible.
Reference Syllabus for the 31st instant the following are the hours allotted to Companies for ranges:-
On August 3rd, the following are the hours allotted:-
On order from 1ST Army, each Company will have a short Route march by night with Gas masks on, on one night during the week.
The Regimental Bombing Officer will arrange hours for live bombing and Rifle grenade work.

Gas Helmet Drill, including Bombing with Masks or Box Respirators on (5 minutes).
Instruction in Observation, Information and Description of Targets.
"B" Company.
