12 Regiment blinde du Canada, through Le Régiment de Trois-Rivières (RCAC), perpetuates the 178th Battalion, C.E.F. This battalion saw no service in France as a unit, its troops being used as reinforcements to other battalions of the Canadian Corps.

The 178th Bn, C.E.F. was authorized the battle honour "The Great War, 1917" in the Appendix to General Order No. 123 of 1929; BATTLE HONOURS awarded for the Great War, List No. 2
