The Minute Book. In the days before e-mail made the rapid sharing of messages efficient (if not always effective), units had a method of ensuring that officers received messages on matters of dress, social responsibilities, and matters of duty. That method was the maintenance, by the Adjutant, of the Officer's Minute Book. The Minute Book was kept in the Adjutant's office and every unit officer was expected to check it regularly for new additions.
