2 | Under active consideration | Will have a shot at finding the file. |
3 | Has received careful consideration | A period of inactivity covering the time lag. |
4 | For comments | To be honest I know nothing about it. Could you put me wise? |
5 | Ascertained informally | Had a cup of tea. |
6 | Transmitted to you | Try holding the baby for a while. |
7 | Concur | Have not read the document! |
8 | Kindly expedite reply | For God's sake try to find the papers. |
9 | In abeyance | A state of grace for a disgraceful state. |
10 | Appropriate action | Do you know what to do with it? We don't. |
11 | DADOS* | Greek work meaning "Unobtainable." |
12 | On a high level | A talk between two junior officers of different branches. |
13 | Decision | A staff officer's last resort. |
14 | This must await my return | Ensure destruction or loss before I return. |
15 | Immediate or Priority | Coloured slips of paper to be attached to any file you want to foist on to somebody else at the eleventh hour on a Saturday. |
16 | Urgent reminder | An uncalled for note normally issued in panic when at last remembered. To be placed at the bottom of the "pending" tray. |
17 | Pay slips | Mysterious pieces of paper bearing no apparent relation to what you imagine your pay to be. |
18 | Rocket | A projectile traveling from a greater to a lesser elevation. |
19 | Putting him in the picture | Long and confused statement to a new-comer. |
